Saganoya
The savory taste of the cracker crumbles in your mouth. Saga-no-ya is a locally be-loved store specializing in rice crackers and arare, which can be considered a soul snack of the downtown area.
Established in 1914, Saganoya is a long-established rice cracker store whose building was even designated as a registered tangible cultural property in August 2023.
Saganoya's rice crackers and arare are made by hand in the traditional way. The rice cakes are cut by hand in the store, dried in the sun, baked in a charcoal kiln, and finished by carefully coating each piece with sauce using a brush.
Saganoya has been a local favorite for many years, but it is also a good place to visit on the occasion of sightseeing in Yanaka, as it is located just a short distance from Yanaka Cemetery.
